CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — Pitcairn has named Carlin Calcaterra as Managing Director of Investment Strategy, strengthening its leadership team as the firm expands services for multigenerational client families. Calcaterra will lead investment solutions strategy and design customized portfolios aligned with clients’ long-term objectives.
With more than 15 years of investment management experience, Calcaterra is recognized for her expertise in strategic asset allocation and private markets. She most recently served as managing director and co-head of the Financial Advisor Solutions Team at Ares Management, where she advised on private market allocations, oversaw asset class integration, and developed education initiatives for advisors. Her background also includes senior roles at Mercer Investments and Goldman Sachs, where she managed multi-asset institutional portfolios.
“Carlin has a rare ability to connect the quantitative rigor of portfolio construction with clear, client-centered communication,” said Nathan Sonnenberg, Chief Investment Officer at Pitcairn. “Her expertise strengthens our ability to deliver on our Shared Single-Family Office™ mission—empowering families to grow, keep, and protect more of their wealth across generations.”
Calcaterra described Pitcairn’s legacy and focus as central to her decision to join. “This firm represents the best of what America can be for hardworking families striving to build and protect wealth for generations,” she said. “I am honored to join a team equally focused on innovative investment portfolios and the broader wealth preservation process.”
Her appointment follows Pitcairn’s acquisition of Baltimore-based Brightside Partners earlier this year and the launch of Pitcairn Wealth Advisors LLC, an RIA that complements the firm’s trust company and single-family office model.
“As we expand the investment strategies available to our clients, we continue to attract exceptional talent like Carlin,” said Chairman and Chief Global Strategist Rick Pitcairn. “Our deep understanding of multigenerational family wealth sets us apart, and this insight drives our growth as we enter our second century.”
Calcaterra earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and French from Bucknell University and holds a Certificate in Quantitative Finance. Her appointment underscores Pitcairn’s commitment to blending technical expertise with a client-centered approach to wealth management.
