LOWER MORELAND TWP, PA — Aqua Pennsylvania will begin a major water main construction project on Philmont Avenue in Montgomery County starting Tuesday, September 2, leading to long-term travel restrictions in the area.
According to PennDOT, Philmont Avenue will be closed weekdays between Pine Road and Byberry Road from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, beginning September 2, 2025, and continuing through Monday, June 1, 2026. During these closures, motorists will be detoured onto Pine Road and Byberry Road.
Local access will remain available, but drivers should expect congestion and delays near the construction zone. All activities are weather dependent.
The project, which will replace aging infrastructure, is being carried out by Aqua Pennsylvania under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
