PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philly AIDS Thrift announced it has awarded $404,557 in grants to 33 nonprofit organizations providing HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and support services across the Greater Philadelphia region.

The organization said the funding brings its total charitable contributions to more than $5.6 million since its founding in 2005.

Philly AIDS Thrift said the grants support programs focused on prevention services, healthcare access, housing stability, harm reduction, education, outreach, and other services for communities affected by HIV/AIDS.

The nonprofit established its grant program in 2014 to provide funding to regional organizations serving individuals living with HIV/AIDS.

“This year’s grants represent the largest single distribution in the organization’s history,” said Michael Byrne, president of the board of Philly AIDS Thrift.

“Every year, it’s incredibly rewarding to see how community support turns into real resources for organizations doing vital work across the Delaware Valley,” Byrne said.

Philly AIDS Thrift Executive Director and cofounder Christina Kallas-Saritsoglou said the program is funded through donations of secondhand goods sold through the organization’s thrift stores.

“What makes this work so meaningful is seeing how everyday actions through donations, sorting, and sales translate directly into support for people living with HIV/AIDS,” Kallas-Saritsoglou said.

Organizations receiving grants in the 2026 cycle include Action Wellness, AIDS Delaware, AIDS Law Project of Pennsylvania, Bebashi – Transition to Hope, Camp Dreamcatcher, Family Service of Chester County, Jefferson Health’s Ryan White Program, Mazzoni Center, Philadelphia FIGHT, Prevention Point Philadelphia, and the William Way LGBT Community Center.

Additional recipients include Planned Parenthood Keystone, Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania, MANNA, Bethesda Project, Drexel Medicine’s Partnership Comprehensive Care Practice, Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Greater Philadelphia, and The Attic Youth Center.

Philly AIDS Thrift said the next application cycle for grant funding will open in October 2026.
