PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens (PMG) will spotlight the legacy of mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar with two upcoming exhibitions that blend community, creativity, and affordability. Beginning November 14, visitors can explore Under $100, Under $1,000: Isaiah Zagar-Inspired Works by Philly Artists, followed in January by Face to Face: Isaiah Zagar’s Mosaicked Portraits, both on view at the Magic Gardens Museum at 1020 South Street.
The first exhibition, Under $100, Under $1,000, transforms PMG’s mosaic-lined galleries into a showcase of affordable art celebrating Philadelphia’s creative spirit. Featuring painters, sculptors, and mixed-media artists including Lydia Congiu, Devyn Dais, Annette Monnier, Valerie Pantalone, Anabel Perrigueur, and Julie Woodard, the exhibit invites both seasoned collectors and first-time buyers to engage with the city’s vibrant art scene. The exhibition runs through January 11, 2026, and includes a member preview on November 13 and a pay-what-you-wish public opening on November 14.
Launching January 23, Face to Face: Isaiah Zagar’s Mosaicked Portraits offers a more personal look into the people who shaped the artist’s life and imagination. The collection, composed of tile, mirror, and folk art fragments, presents a kaleidoscopic view of Zagar’s world — from musical legends like Billie Holiday and John Coltrane to neighborhood figures such as South Street’s Benny Dorfman. Curated by Exhibitions Manager Chelsey Luster, the show runs through April 12, 2026.
“Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens presents two compelling exhibitions this season that celebrate the city’s creativity and community,” said Luster. “Together, they explore connection, collaboration, and the rich spirit of Philadelphia’s artistic landscape.”
Beyond its galleries, PMG continues to expand programming at both the Magic Gardens Museum and the recently acquired Magic Gardens Studio. Visitors can participate in events such as yoga sessions, family workshops, and artisan markets, all inspired by Zagar’s enduring vision of inclusivity and joy.
Founded in 2004 to preserve Zagar’s South Street masterpiece, Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens remains one of the city’s most iconic cultural landmarks — a testament to the power of imagination, accessibility, and artistic community.
