PHILADELPHIA, PA — An evening of soulful sound and meaningful impact is coming to Center City as The Heart of Jazz Foundation teams up with Chris’ Jazz Café for a special fundraiser designed to support the next generation of jazz artists.

On Tuesday, April 14, the legendary venue will fill with the energy of rising local talent during Jazz for Good, a night that blends live performance with a mission to expand access to music education. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Heart of Jazz’s scholarship program, which helps aspiring musicians pursue university-level training.

At the center of the evening is The New Philly Sound, a dynamic collective of young artists rooted in the region’s rich jazz tradition. Formed by saxophonist Aidan McKeon, the group brings together some of the area’s top university-level musicians, with a lineup that evolves each year as new talent emerges.

“Jazz is an art form that requires extensive training and practice, and without adequate financial support, many talented students would not have the means to continue their education in this field,” said Heart of Jazz founder Joe Monaghan. “Scholarships help to level the playing field for these students by reducing the financial barriers that may otherwise prevent them from pursuing their dreams.”

The performance promises both technical excellence and creative expression, reflecting Philadelphia’s deep musical roots while showcasing the next wave of performers carrying that legacy forward.
