Philadelphia Police Release Alert: Can You ID This South Street Robbery Suspect?

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an alleged robbery attempt that left a woman injured late Friday night in South Philadelphia.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department’s South Detectives Division, the incident occurred on August 15, 2025, at approximately 11:36 p.m. on the 20XX block of South Street. Investigators say a 35-year-old woman was approached by an unidentified male who allegedly attempted to snatch her cell phone from her hands.

Police report that the victim resisted, leading to a brief struggle during which the suspect allegedly struck her on the head with a bottle and pushed her to the ground. The man then fled westbound on South Street without taking the phone.

The victim was treated at Jefferson University Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male with a brown complexion, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing a black T-shirt with a red devil symbol on the front and black pants.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact the South Detectives Division at 215-686-3013 or submit an anonymous tip by calling 215-686-TIPS. Police advise members of the public not to approach the suspect and to call 911 immediately if he is seen.
