PHILADELPHIA, PA — Motorists across Center City and South Philadelphia should prepare for daytime delays next week as PennDOT continues line striping operations on multiple state highways as part of a broader effort to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of roadway across the region.

According to PennDOT, lane closures will be in place Monday, November 24, and Tuesday, November 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at several high-traffic locations:

  • Sections of Chestnut Street between 22nd Street and Broad Street (Route 611)
  • Sections of Walnut Street between Broad Street (Route 611) and 23rd Street
  • Sections of Oregon Avenue between Delaware Avenue and 15th Street
  • Penn Square (City Hall) between Market Street and Broad Street (Route 611)

Drivers should expect backups and are encouraged to factor extra travel time into their plans. All work is weather dependent.

The line striping is part of ongoing resurfacing projects where PennDOT crews are repairing, milling, and repaving select state highways to extend roadway life and improve overall safety.
