Phenom Buys AI Analytics Firm Included, Deepening Push Into Workforce Intelligence

Phenom

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Phenom has acquired Included, an AI-native, agentic people analytics platform, in a move aimed at expanding how employers analyze workforce data and act on it faster amid intensifying competition for talent.

Phenom, which applies artificial intelligence to hiring, development and retention, said the acquisition strengthens its workforce intelligence capabilities by giving human resources leaders and executives deeper, more connected insights — and the ability to turn those insights into action — across recruiting, performance and employee engagement systems.

The deal comes as many organizations struggle to consolidate data spread across multiple HR technologies and translate it into timely, decision-ready intelligence. Phenom said Included’s technology helps close that gap by automating analysis that often requires specialized analysts or manual reporting.

Included is known for proprietary algorithms designed to resolve inconsistencies and gaps in people data, enabling more accurate analysis and more efficient use of AI. Its extensible data model and ontology allow organizations to ingest information from multiple sources and adapt it to specific business needs. That foundation supports AI-generated narratives that identify hiring bottlenecks, workforce trends, organizational health indicators and outliers using natural language.

Integrated into Phenom’s applied AI platform, Included’s agentic AI will complement Phenom’s Workforce Intelligence solution, allowing users to explore risks and growth opportunities through conversational prompts. The system can generate recommendations and action plans while tailoring insights based on a user’s role and behavior.

Phenom said the combined platform will give HR professionals and business leaders unified access to standardized data across core HR, talent acquisition, engagement and performance systems; predictive intelligence to flag risks early; real-time dashboards and visualizations; and AI-generated reporting to improve hiring velocity, productivity and workforce well-being.

“Many companies still struggle to get vital workforce insights to their leaders for efficient and effective talent planning,” said Zachary Chertok, senior research manager for HCM applications and agents at IDC. He said the acquisition expands access to contextualized, automated people analytics across organizations and deepens personalization through AI.

Phenom Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Mahe Bayireddi said the deal aligns with the company’s strategy of making selective acquisitions that advance its product roadmap.

“Deeper people analytics and workforce planning insights are no longer optional; they’re the foundation for building agile, future-ready teams,” Bayireddi said. “The acquisition of Included expands our ability to deliver contextualized applied AI capabilities for every persona and organization.”

Included was founded in 2021 by Raghu Gollamudi, Chandan Golla and Laura Close. Raghu Gollamudi, chief executive officer and co-founder of Included, said joining Phenom will broaden the reach of the company’s agentic analytics.

“We created Included to build the ultimate people experience solution,” Gollamudi said. “By becoming part of Phenom, we’re excited to bring agentic analytics to more HR professionals and executives.”

Phenom said the acquisition reinforces its broader mission to help candidates find the right jobs faster, enable employees to build skills, improve recruiter productivity, and give employers a more connected and intelligent talent infrastructure as workforce demands continue to evolve.
