LOWER POTTSGROVE TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that reconstruction work on U.S. 422 will begin in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, as part of an ongoing multimillion-dollar infrastructure improvement project.
From Monday, October 27, through Friday, October 31, lane closures will be in place in both directions of the expressway. Westbound U.S. 422 will see a single-lane restriction from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM between the Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) and Armand Hammer Boulevard interchanges. Eastbound lanes will be restricted from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM between the same interchanges.
PennDOT advises motorists to plan ahead, as travel delays and congestion are expected throughout the week. All work schedules are weather dependent.
The effort is part of PennDOT’s $83.6 million project to reconstruct and improve 2.1 miles of U.S. 422, including replacing several bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road. The project aims to enhance safety, roadway durability, and traffic flow for thousands of daily commuters traveling the corridor.
