(Nasdaq: PENN) has published its 2024 Corporate Responsibility Report, showcasing the company’s dedication to its team members, local communities, and environmental stewardship. The report outlines major contributions and initiatives across multiple areas, underscoring PENN’s commitment to corporate citizenship, embodied in its guiding philosophy, The PENN Way.
Key Achievements and Contributions
- Charitable Support: PENN contributed approximately $9 million in donations to local charities, veterans-focused organizations, and supported economic development grants totaling over $16 million through its corporate office, retail casinos, and interactive businesses in Canada and Gibraltar.
- Volunteer Efforts: Team members collectively volunteered more than 11,000 hours assisting those in need, demonstrating PENN’s hands-on approach to community engagement.
- Scholarship Program: Since the establishment of the PENN Scholarship Fund, over $4.2 million has been awarded in need-based scholarships to the children of team members. More than half (58%) of recipients are first-generation college students, and 61% are female, highlighting PENN’s role in advancing educational equity. Notably, the program celebrated the graduation of 44 students from its inaugural class in 2024.
- Sustainability Initiatives: PENN has set a target to reduce Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2030. The company also expanded its climate-related disclosures, reporting for the first time under three major environmental frameworks to enhance transparency.
