PECO Project to Shut Brownsville Road for Months in Bucks County

Traffic Alert

MIDDLETOWN TWP, PA — Drivers in central Bucks County are being warned to prepare for months of daytime disruptions as PECO Energy begins a utility improvement project that will close a key stretch of Brownsville Road in Middletown Township.

According to PECO, utility construction is scheduled to begin Thursday, February 5, and will continue through Tuesday, June 30. Weather permitting, Brownsville Road will be closed and detoured on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM between Playwicki Street and Broadview Avenue.

During the closure, motorists will be directed to follow a detour using Old Lincoln Highway, Route 213 (Maple Avenue/Bridgetown Pike), and Bristol Road. Local access will be maintained throughout the project, but officials cautioned that traffic backups and delays are likely along both the work zone and surrounding detour routes.
