LEXINGTON, KY & PHILADELPHIA, PA — Pathology & Cytology Laboratories (P&C Labs) has partnered with Proscia®, a digital pathology AI company, to overhaul its operations using Proscia’s Concentriq® software platform. Just weeks after implementation, the laboratory reports significant improvements in efficiency and diagnostic workflow.

One-day turnaround time has risen sharply, with 57 percent of specimens now completed within 24 hours of receipt compared to 34 percent prior to deployment—an 88 percent increase. Two-day turnaround rates improved to 74 percent from 65 percent. Internal consultation rates have also climbed 25 percent, reflecting greater collaboration among pathologists.

As demand for its services grows, P&C Labs has integrated Concentriq with the Clinisys Orchard Enterprise Pathology laboratory information system to streamline operations. The company’s pathologists have embraced digital workflows, moving rapidly away from traditional glass-slide microscopy.

“No one in our laboratory wants to go back to glass,” said Steve Olsen, Chief Operating Officer at P&C Labs. “The early results validate our move to digital, and this is only the beginning. With Proscia as our partner, we are rapidly expanding our use of Concentriq to unlock even greater benefits and fuel our growth.”

The transition supports P&C Labs’ broader expansion across multiple sites. By combining productivity gains with the flexibility for pathologists to work remotely, the lab aims to scale its services while maintaining both speed and quality of results.

“The team at P&C Labs is inspiring,” said David West, CEO of Proscia. “It sees the full promise of digital pathology and is already setting a model for other laboratories to follow. By quickly realizing operational benefits and keeping business growth at the center of its strategy, it will continue to differentiate itself.”

Proscia will showcase its Concentriq platform at booth 200 during the Digital Pathology Association’s Pathology Visions conference, held October 5–7.
