Traffic Alert

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced nighttime paving operations next week on U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown Townships. The work is part of a $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and enhance a three-mile stretch of the heavily traveled roadway.

The paving is scheduled to occur from Sunday, June 29, through Wednesday, July 2, between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM the following morning. Lane closures will be implemented in both directions on U.S. 1 between Fairhill Avenue and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange.

Motorists are advised to plan for possible travel delays and allocate extra time when driving through the area. The work schedule is subject to weather conditions.

PennDOT’s $116 million initiative aims to improve traffic flow and safety along U.S. 1, a vital corridor in Bucks County, through reconstruction, roadway widening, and infrastructure upgrades.
