RADNOR, PA — Pardee Resources Company (OTC: PDER) said a coal operator on one of its Logan County, West Virginia, properties has issued a Worker Adjustment Retraining Notification indicating plans to idle seven mines and lay off about 530 employees, a move the company said is expected to reduce its 2026 revenue.
The company said Greenbrier Minerals, which operates through subsidiary companies on Pardee’s property, issued the WARN notice on Friday, February 13, 2026.
According to Pardee, Greenbrier plans to idle seven coal mines, including several located on the company’s Logan County property, and begin layoffs around mid-April.
Greenbrier cited “the current adverse market conditions” as the reason for the planned layoffs, Pardee said.
Pardee said the idled mines had been expected to generate between $4 million and $5 million in revenue for the full year 2026 and that the action is likely to have a material negative impact on its operating results for the year.
The company said it intends to work to replace the production on its properties but cautioned that there can be no guarantee it will be successful.
