Overnight Route 283 Lane Closures Could Delay Lancaster Drivers

LANCASTER COUNTY, PA — Drivers traveling on Route 283 in Lancaster County should prepare for overnight lane restrictions later this month as PennDOT crews perform concrete patching and repair work along the corridor.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, single-lane restrictions will be in place in both directions of Route 283 while crews complete repair work on deteriorated sections of pavement.

Lane closures will occur in only one direction at a time, but motorists traveling through the work zone overnight should plan extra time and expect delays as traffic moves through the restricted area.

The repair work is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM Thursday, March 26, continue through 6:00 AM Friday, March 27, and resume from 7:00 PM Friday, March 27, through 6:00 AM Monday, March 30.

PennDOT noted that all scheduled construction activities are weather dependent and may change if conditions require.

The contractor performing the work is New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., of New Enterprise, Pennsylvania.
