EAST HEMPFIELD TWP, PA — Motorists traveling along Route 283 should prepare for overnight lane closures next week as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) performs concrete patching and spall repairs in Lancaster County.
The maintenance work will take place between Esbenshade Road in Rapho Township and State Road (Route 772) in East Hempfield Township. Weather permitting, crews will be active from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM on Wednesday, November 19, and Thursday, November 20, with additional work scheduled during the same overnight hours from Sunday, November 23, through Tuesday, November 25.
PennDOT plans to begin repairs in the eastbound lanes before shifting to the westbound side. At least one lane of traffic will remain open in each direction during construction.
New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., of New Enterprise, Pennsylvania, is handling the project.
