Overnight Lane Closures Scheduled on U.S. 1 in Bucks County for Roadwork

Traffic alert, expect delays

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that paving and line striping operations will require overnight lane closures next week on U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships.

From Sunday, August 17, through Friday, August 22, lane restrictions will be in place nightly from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM in both directions between Fairhill Avenue and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange. Drivers are advised to expect backups and allow extra time when traveling through the work zones.

The work is part of PennDOT’s $116 million U.S. 1/RC2 contract, which aims to reconstruct and widen a three-mile section of U.S. 1, stretching from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange. All activities remain weather dependent.
