BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced upcoming paving operations on U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships as part of a large-scale reconstruction and widening project aimed at improving safety and traffic flow along this critical corridor.
From Monday, July 7, through Friday, July 11, motorists will encounter overnight lane closures in both directions on U.S. 1 between Fairhill Avenue and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange. The restrictions will be in place each night from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning. Drivers are urged to plan for delays and allow additional travel time, as congestion is expected. All work is weather dependent.
The paving marks the latest phase of PennDOT’s $116 million U.S. 1/RC2 contract, which focuses on reconstructing and expanding a three-mile section of U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
