PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced upcoming weeknight lane closures on sections of I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) as part of a $37.9 million project to resurface and repair nearly five miles of the interstate, along with on-and-off ramps and more than 20 bridges in Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County.
From Tuesday, September 2, through Friday, October 3, weeknight lane closures will be in place from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM at the following locations:
- Both directions of I-76, between the U.S. 1 (City Avenue) and I-676 interchanges, for line striping, barrier repair, and inlet replacement
- I-76 between Walnut Street and University Avenue, for line striping and pavement repair
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, as backups and delays are expected in the affected areas. All work is weather dependent.
