WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced upcoming weeknight lane closures on I-476 as part of a $63.7 million project to resurface, repair, and improve nearly 17 miles of the interstate, along with associated ramps and bridges, from I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) in West Conshohocken to I-95 in Ridley Township, Delaware County.

From Tuesday, September 2, through Friday, October 3, lane closures will be in place weeknights from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM in both directions on sections of I-476 between the I-76 and I-95 interchanges. Work will include milling, paving, bridge and guiderail repair, pipe replacement, and line striping.

The project scope also involves repairs to 49 structures, improvements to 21 stormwater management basins, sound wall maintenance, inlet replacements, and installation of new pavement markings, rumble strips, signage, and guiderail.

PennDOT advises motorists to allow extra travel time, as backups and delays are expected in the work zones. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

H&K Group, Inc. of Skippack, PA, serves as the general contractor. The project is fully federally funded.
