PLYMOUTH TWP, PA — Drivers using Interstate 476 should prepare for an overnight closure next Friday as PECO Energy conducts utility improvements requiring a temporary shutdown of the highway in both directions.

From 12:00 AM to 3:00 AM on Friday, November 21, I-476 will be closed between the Chemical Road underpass and the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276) while crews replace a power line crossing the interstate. The work is expected to take approximately three hours, weather permitting.

During the closure, northbound motorists will be detoured via the Plymouth Meeting ramp (Exit 19), Chemical Road, and Germantown Pike. Southbound travelers will be directed to follow I-276 westbound, exit at Norristown (Exit 333), and use Germantown Pike and Chemical Road to rejoin I-476 South. Additional detours will be in place for motorists traveling to and from I-276.
