PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that paving operations on the Market Street ramp will close southbound I-95 next Thursday night, October 2, as part of the $329 million I-95 CAP project to expand the covered section between Chestnut and Walnut streets.
From 11:00 PM Thursday to 5:00 AM Friday, southbound I-95 and the ramp from eastbound I-676 to southbound I-95 will be closed between the I-676 Callowhill Street (Exit 22) and Washington Avenue/Columbus Boulevard (Exit 20) interchanges. Detours will be in place via Callowhill Street, 6th Street, Race Street, and Columbus Boulevard.
Drivers should expect significant delays and are urged to allow extra time or use alternate routes.
