NYCU College of Management Wins 2025 WRDS Innovation Award

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS), part of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, has named the College of Management at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) the winner of the 2025 WRDS Innovation Award for the Asia Pacific region.

The annual award recognizes emerging business schools demonstrating strong research performance and a commitment to advancing data-driven scholarship. Previous honorees include the University of Manchester, the National University of Singapore, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

NYCU’s selection places the Taiwanese institution alongside leading global research universities. Located in Hsinchu, the country’s technology hub, the College of Management is known for its work in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, fintech and sustainability. Its programs integrate engineering and social sciences to develop applied research with industry, government and academic partners.

Yu-Chiun Chiou, dean of the College of Management, said the award affirms the school’s mission to merge technology and management to address real-world problems. He added that the recognition will continue to motivate faculty and students pursuing interdisciplinary research and global engagement.

WRDS Managing Director Robert Zarazowski announced the award at the AACSB Elevate: Asia Pacific conference in Hong Kong. He said NYCU’s selection reflects both the strength of its research agenda and its forward-looking approach to business education.

WRDS supports more than 500 institutions in 38 countries through data access tools, teaching resources and analytics applications. The platform is widely used to support academic research, institutional accreditation and classroom instruction. The Wharton School, founded in 1881, continues to be a major contributor to global business scholarship through its academic programs, executive education and worldwide alumni network.
