NuvemRx Acquires par8o to Expand 340B Referral Capture Reach

NuvemRx

BOSTON, MA & SHARON HILL, PA — NuvemRx announced it has acquired the 340B referral capture business formerly known as par8o from R1 RCM, a move that significantly expands its national footprint in supporting safety-net providers navigating the complexities of the federal 340B drug pricing program.

The acquisition strengthens NuvemRx’s ability to help covered entities capture specialty referrals, retain patients within their care networks, comply with evolving rebate and reimbursement requirements, and maximize eligible prescription savings.

With par8o’s network integrated into its platform, NuvemRx said it will now support more than 800 covered entities nationwide, collectively serving over 70 million cumulative patients. Company officials described the transaction as creating a more comprehensive offering that combines third-party administration services, pharmacy management and advanced referral technology into a unified care model.

“Referral leakage and fragmented specialty care often prevent safety-net organizations from capturing the full value of the 340B program,” said Scott Seidelmann, CEO of NuvemRx. “By bringing par8o’s referral technology, enhanced with AI-powered decision support, into our suite of services, we can automate up to 85 percent of the referral and eligibility process. This offers providers another opportunity to reduce the administrative burden associated with the 340B program and allows patients to receive high-quality integrated care.”

The 340B program enables eligible healthcare organizations to purchase outpatient drugs at discounted prices, generating savings intended to expand services for underserved populations. However, compliance requirements, specialty pharmacy coordination and referral management have become increasingly complex as regulatory scrutiny and reimbursement shifts continue.

NuvemRx said par8o’s technology fills a key gap in the 340B ecosystem by providing real-time referral visibility, enabling providers to identify eligible prescriptions, capture additional savings and reduce leakage in specialty care workflows.

Melissa Opraseuth, chief operating officer of par8o, will join the NuvemRx leadership team as part of the acquisition.

“With NuvemRx, we now have a complete solution that brings together TPA, pharmacy management, and referral capture services under a single, mission-aligned partner,” Opraseuth said. “As a combined company, we will be able to directly address the inherent complexity of the 340B program for safety net providers and support ongoing access to care for patients across the country.”

Company leaders framed the deal as a strategic response to increasing administrative pressures facing hospitals and community health providers, positioning the combined organization to offer more automated, integrated and scalable support across the pharmacy care delivery continuum.
