Nordic Cold Chain Opens Lab for GLP-1 Packaging Solutions

Nordic Cold Chain Solutions

HATFIELD, PA — Nordic Cold Chain Solutions announced the launch of a GLP-1 and small-format packaging innovation lab to support the development and scaling of cold chain shipping solutions for temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products.

The company said the lab is designed to help specialty pharmacies, drug manufacturers and e-commerce providers manage the logistics of shipping GLP-1 therapies and other temperature-sensitive products through parcel delivery networks.

The initiative focuses on designing and testing packaging for small-format shipments, including mailers and compact shippers, with an emphasis on consistency, compliance and scalability.

Nordic said the lab builds on its existing operations, allowing customers to move from early development and pilot programs to larger-scale production and distribution.

Keith Baechle, chief commercial officer at Nordic Cold Chain Solutions, said the lab is intended to support rapid changes in the GLP-1 market.

“As the GLP-1 landscape continues to evolve … our customers need partners who can move just as fast,” Baechle said.

The company said the lab will work with customers to develop packaging systems for real-world shipping conditions, including standardized pack-out designs and testing protocols.
