BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced overnight paving operations on U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships as part of a $116 million infrastructure initiative.
Lane closures will be in effect from Sunday, August 3, through Friday, August 8, between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM the following morning. The closures will impact both directions of U.S. 1 between Fairhill Avenue and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange.
Motorists are advised to plan for delays and allow additional travel time, as traffic backups are expected during construction hours. All scheduled work is weather dependent.
This phase of the U.S. 1/RC2 contract involves the reconstruction and widening of a three-mile segment of the highway. The project spans from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange, aiming to modernize one of Bucks County’s key transportation corridors.
