PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that Kelly Drive in Philadelphia will face overnight closures beginning Monday, September 22, as part of ongoing resurfacing projects across the region.

From September 22 through October 1, one of two stretches of Kelly Drive will be closed each night between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Closures will alternate between Ridge Avenue and Fountain Green Drive, and between Reservoir Drive/Strawberry Mansion Drive and 25th Street. Posted detours will direct traffic along surrounding city streets.

The closures will allow crews to complete final paving operations, applying a protective surface designed to seal the roadway, improve skid resistance, and extend pavement life. PennDOT has been working on this section of Kelly Drive since early August.

Motorists should prepare for delays and plan alternate routes.
