BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Drivers in New Britain and Chalfont boroughs should prepare for overnight detours later this month as utility work forces the temporary closure of a section of Bristol Road.
At A Glance
- Roads Affected: Bristol Road (between Unami Trail and Hibiscus Drive)
- Dates: Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27
- Times: 8:00 PM – 5:00 AM (weeknights)
- Reason: Utility improvement work
Weather permitting, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said Bristol Road will be fully closed and detoured overnight between Unami Trail and Hibiscus Drive while crews perform utility upgrades.
During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Upper State Road, Route 152 (Limekiln Pike/Butler Avenue), and Business U.S. 202 (Butler Avenue) to bypass the work zone.
Local access will remain available throughout the project, but motorists traveling through the area should expect slowdowns near the closure and along the detour routes.
PennDOT advises drivers to plan extra travel time and consider alternate routes when possible, particularly during the overnight work hours.
Watts Services is performing the work under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
