MANHEIM TWP, PA — Drivers traveling westbound on Route 30 in Lancaster County should prepare for overnight delays next week as PennDOT installs new overhead signs near the Route 222 interchange.
At a Glance:
- Roads Affected: Route 30 (Westbound)
- Dates: Monday, March 23, through Friday, March 27 (overnights, ending Saturday morning, March 28)
- Times: 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Reason: Overhead sign installation
PennDOT said lane restrictions will be in place on westbound Route 30 between New Holland Pike (Route 23) and Oregon Pike (Route 272) during nighttime work hours. Traffic will be reduced, and drivers should expect slower travel through the work zone.
No detour is planned for next week’s overnight work, but motorists should anticipate periodic slowdowns and possible backups. Plan extra time if traveling late at night and remain alert for crews and changing traffic patterns.
Officials also announced a full weekend closure is planned for April 17 through April 20 impacting both directions of Route 30 and the Route 222 bridge. Detour details will be released ahead of that closure.
The work is part of a larger project to improve the Route 222/Route 30 interchange and expand capacity along the corridor.
Drivers are urged to proceed with caution through the work zone and reduce speeds during overnight hours.
