UPPER CHICHESTER TWP, PA — A critical connector in Delaware County will tighten overnight next week as PennDOT crews move forward with bridge repairs along eastbound U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway).

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that nighttime bridge repair operations are scheduled from Tuesday, February 17, through Thursday, February 19, in Upper Chichester Township.

Weather permitting, a lane closure will be in place each night from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning on eastbound U.S. 322 between Bethel Avenue and the ramp to southbound Interstate 95. The affected stretch serves as a key route for commuters and commercial traffic traveling toward the I-95 corridor.

PennDOT officials cautioned that backups and delays will occur as vehicles merge through the restricted work zone. Motorists are urged to reduce speed, remain alert for construction crews, and allow additional travel time when passing through the area.

All scheduled activities are weather dependent and may be adjusted if conditions warrant.

With ongoing nighttime construction projects across the region, drivers are encouraged to check conditions before heading out.
