JENKINTOWN, PA — National Philanthropic Trust announced the appointment of Eric Ziegler as chief technology officer, where he will oversee technology strategy and digital infrastructure supporting the organization’s donor-advised fund operations.

The organization said Ziegler will focus on improving digital connectivity across networks that include donors, nonprofit organizations, and partner institutions, while also expanding the use of data to support decision-making.

“As NPT continues to grow and refine the ways we serve donors and nonprofits, it is essential that our enterprise strategy supports innovation, insight, and connection across our stakeholder ecosystem,” said Holly Welch Stubbing, president and chief executive officer of National Philanthropic Trust.

Ziegler joins the organization after a 27-year career at The Vanguard Group, Inc., where he most recently served as head of engineering and chief architect for personal investor wealth management systems.

In that role, he led modernization efforts for advisory technology platforms and worked on initiatives aimed at strengthening data-driven decision-making across the company’s wealth management systems.

“After many years advancing advisory services at scale during my time with Vanguard, where our core purpose was to give every investor the best chance for success, I saw NPT as an exciting opportunity to apply that same commitment to helping donors and nonprofits achieve lasting change,” Ziegler said.

Founded in 1996, National Philanthropic Trust manages donor-advised funds and provides grantmaking services for individuals, families, and organizations.

The nonprofit organization said it has raised more than $92.2 billion in charitable contributions and distributed more than $44.7 billion in grants to nonprofits worldwide.
