PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors announced a leadership transition that caps four years of expansion and elevated governance engagement, while setting the stage for its next phase.
Melissa Ludwig concluded her term as chapter chair in December 2025 after overseeing sustained membership growth, expanded programming, and deeper director participation across the region. Her tenure coincided with a period of heightened focus on board effectiveness and governance innovation, the organization said.
Ludwig’s impact extended beyond the local chapter. She was recently named to NACD’s Directorship100, a national honor recognizing the most influential leaders in corporate governance. A seasoned board director and former Macy’s executive, Ludwig brings experience in strategy, enterprise risk management, and organizational transformation, along with extensive nonprofit, academic, and civic board service. She also leads Broad Street Angels and oversees corporate partnerships for Fearless Restaurants.
Succeeding Ludwig as chapter chair is Tom Petro, a CEO, corporate director, and venture investor with decades of boardroom experience. Petro is managing partner of 1867 Capital Partners and serves as a director and committee chair at Univest Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: UVSP). He is also the author of AI in the Boardroom: A Leader’s Guide to Responsible Governance, a book focused on emerging technology oversight at the board level.
The chapter also recognized Alex Lord of KPMG for his board service and announced four new board members: Glenn Brooks, Julia Klein, Jeffrey Vrabel, and Trish Wellenbach NACD.DC. The additions bring a range of professional backgrounds intended to strengthen the chapter’s leadership and support continued growth.
Chapter leaders said the transition reflects a commitment to governance excellence as demand grows for experienced directors capable of guiding organizations through economic, technological, and regulatory change.
