DENVER, PA — Morphy Auctions will hold a 956-lot sale of edged weapons, armor and militaria from a single Pennsylvania collector on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at its gallery in Denver, the company announced.
The auction, titled “Morphy’s Fine Knives: A Quality Lifetime Collection,” will feature items assembled over approximately 50 years.
Among the highlighted lots is a circa-1920-1940 “Case Tested XX 6391” Anglo-Saxon split-back spring whittler with green bone handles, estimated at $4,000-$8,000.
Also expected to draw interest is an early 1990s Chris Reeve South Africa Field Survivor Pre-Project 1 pommel knife, estimated at $2,500-$7,500. The knife is numbered 10 of approximately 90 produced before the model became the Project 1.
A circa-1920s Hibbard Spencer Bartlett etched lever-lock stag-handle switchblade carries a pre-sale estimate of $2,000-$5,000.
A custom Al Dippold Damascus switchblade liner lock with 18K gold inlay panels is estimated at $2,000-$4,000.
The consignor, who requested anonymity, said he began collecting knives as a child after receiving his first Case XX knife from his father.
“I became interested in knives at about age seven,” he said in a statement released by the auction house.
The auction will begin at 9 a.m. Eastern at Morphy’s gallery, 2000 North Reading Road, Denver. Preview appointments are available on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting one week before the sale, and from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on the day of the auction.
Remote bidding options include absentee, telephone and online bidding through Morphy Live, according to the company.
