RADNOR, PAMcNees Wallace & Nurick has announced the addition of Kayla Bushey to its Radnor office, strengthening the firm’s expertise in privacy compliance, data breach response, and cybersecurity litigation as data security challenges continue to grow.

Bushey joins the firm with a robust background in privacy policy analysis and legal research focused on U.S. and international data privacy frameworks. Most recently, she served as a Westin Research Fellow at the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), contributing to research publications and resources that track global privacy developments. Her prior work with the Future of Privacy Forum involved evaluating student privacy policies and analyzing state-level privacy requirements, giving her a practical edge in addressing complex regulatory landscapes.

Her experience also includes legal internships with the Federal Communications Commission’s Space Bureau, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and the Culpeper Circuit Court, providing her with a broad foundation in regulatory and governmental processes.

The addition of Bushey marks a significant milestone for McNees’s Philadelphia-area expansion. Since opening its Devon office in February 2021, the firm has grown its local team from three to 12 attorneys, prompting a move to larger office space in Radnor earlier this year. Bushey becomes the first privacy and data security attorney based in the region for McNees, broadening the firm’s service offerings and signaling its commitment to addressing evolving client needs.

“Kayla brings a thoughtful and research-driven approach to our Privacy & Data Security team,” said Devin Chwastyk, co-chair of the group. “Her academic background and hands-on exposure to key regulatory issues will benefit clients navigating today’s evolving data privacy landscape.”

With this latest hire, McNees Wallace & Nurick further positions itself as a leading regional firm capable of helping clients manage increasingly complex privacy and data security challenges.
