Mason Martin and Scott Engler Named All-Stars, Highlighting Stormers’ Strong Season

LANCASTER, PA — Two standout players from the Lancaster Stormers have been named to the 2025 Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) mid-season All-Star Team, recognizing their exceptional performances so far this season. First baseman Mason Martin and right-handed reliever Scott Engler earned their spots through a vote by the league’s ten managers, who were not allowed to select their own players.

Mason Martin, 26, has been a powerhouse at the plate, leading the league in home runs and total bases. He also ranks among the top five in batting average and RBIs. Martin’s consistency has been remarkable, highlighted by a 26-game on-base streak during which he reached base at an impressive 55.6% clip and recorded a slugging percentage of .908. Since joining Lancaster, Martin has accumulated 47 home runs and 125 RBIs across 123 games. Stormers manager Ross Peeples praised Martin as the cornerstone of the lineup, emphasizing his professional approach and dependability.

Scott Engler, 28, has anchored the bullpen with 31 appearances — tied for the most in the league. The Wichita native has posted a 4-1 record with a 2.84 ERA and eight holds. Earlier this season, Engler delivered a remarkable stretch, allowing only four hits over his first 15.1 innings and going unscored upon in 11 consecutive outings from early May through late May. Peeples commended Engler for his ability to handle high-pressure situations and for consistently executing like a seasoned pro.

The Stormers are one of four teams with two players on the All-Star roster. York led with three selections, while High Point and Long Island matched Lancaster with two each. The announcement underscores the strong individual performances fueling Lancaster’s competitive season.

The Atlantic League, celebrating over 26 years as MLB’s first Professional Partner League, remains a crucial stepping stone for players aspiring to reach the major leagues, having sent more than 1,400 players to MLB organizations.
