PHILADELPHIA, PA — InLiquid’s annual March for Art returns March 9 through 20, transforming South Kensington into a two-week showcase of contemporary art, community programming and collector engagement featuring more than 200 works by Philadelphia-area artists.
Held at the Icebox Project Space inside the Crane Arts Building, the silent auction invites collectors and art lovers to view and purchase original fine art while directly supporting working artists across the region.
The event will feature works from notable artists including painter and photographer Diane Burko, photo-based multidisciplinary artist Gabe Martinez, and interdisciplinary artist, photographer and educator Peggy Washburn.
“March for Art is Philadelphia’s largest art sale featuring Philadelphia-based artists and designers,” said Rachel Zimmerman, Executive Director and Founder of InLiquid. “With the art on display for two weeks and a full calendar of special events, it’s a truly unique opportunity to see, support and purchase artwork by our city’s foremost artists.”
Running concurrently with the auction through March 28, InLiquid Gallery will host the March for Art Shop, offering art jewelry, clothing, furniture and homewares by local craftspeople. The curated jewelry selection includes sculptural pieces by Mia Kaplan inspired by memory and identity; pillowed metal forms by Sarah Montagnoli that capture fragments of personal history; sustainability-focused designs by Maddy Hirsch; and sterling silver and semi-precious stone works by Caroline Gore rooted in traditional analog processes.
Organizers say these artists represent only a portion of the designers featured in both the auction and retail shop.
Now in its twentieth year, the event — formerly known as The Benefit — serves as InLiquid’s signature fundraiser. The nonprofit’s artist-first model shares proceeds from each sale directly with participating artists while supporting its broader mission to sustain Philadelphia’s creative community.
