PHILADELPHIA, PA — Main Street Manayunk is going to the dogs—again. On Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Manayunk Development Corporation will welcome thousands of dogs and their owners for the highly anticipated return of Dog Day of Summer. The free outdoor event, held in honor of National Pet Month, promises a packed day of pet-friendly activities, giveaways, adoptions, and a slate of new experiences for 2025.

Expanding on last year’s success, this year’s event introduces the Yards Pints and Paws Passport, a collaboration with Yards Brewing that lets attendees collect stamps at participating bars and restaurants to win dog-themed prizes. Over a dozen venues are expected to offer food and drink specials as part of the new program.

Another major highlight is the return of Bennett’s Buddies and the Paws for a Cause adoption initiative, hosted at the Richard’s Apex Lot on Main Street. Radio personality Bennett from The NEW 96.5 FM and the PSPCA will broadcast live while showcasing adoptable pets in partnership with BluePearl Pet Hospital. The event is part of a larger three-day adoption push to support animal rescue efforts across the region.

With hundreds of adoptable pets, specialty products, and treats for both dogs and humans, Dog Day of Summer continues to grow as a seasonal staple for Philadelphia’s pet-loving community. Attendance is free, and families, children, and well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome.
