MANAYUNK, PA — After a five-year hiatus, one of the Philadelphia region’s most anticipated dining events made a flavorful return this September as more than 20 restaurants joined forces for Manayunk Restaurant Week. From September 8 to 14, diners explored a wide range of two- and three-course prix fixe menus priced at $15, $25, $35, and $45, with options spanning casual lunches to fine dining dinners.
The revival was aimed at boosting local business, celebrating the neighborhood’s culinary diversity, and encouraging residents and visitors alike to experience Manayunk’s Main Street dining scene. Participating spots included well-known names such as The Goat’s Beard, Mia Ragazza, Lucky’s Last Chance, Chabaa Thai Bistro, and the Manayunk Brew Pub. Menus featured everything from American comfort food to global cuisine, alongside special cocktails, beers, and seasonal beverages.
“Manayunk’s Restaurant Week is a celebration of our thriving dining scene,” said Gwen McCauley, Executive Director of the Manayunk Development Corporation. “It’s the perfect time to try new flavors, support local chefs, and experience the heart of our community.”
The event also reflected a spirit of collaboration over competition. “Rather than each of us fighting for a bigger piece of the pie, we are all working together to make the pie bigger,” said Brendan McGrew, Director of Operations at Voracious Hospitality Group, which operates The Goat’s Beard and Mia Ragazza. “We have found that there is definite strength in numbers; working together enhances the entire Manayunk community.”
For organizers, the return was as much about community spirit as it was about business growth. “It’s a great opportunity to showcase the talent of our chefs, build community spirit, and remind people of everything Manayunk has to offer,” said MDC Marketing and Retail Strategy Consultant Joan Denenberg.
With prix fixe menus, signature dishes, and the chance to discover both new and established eateries, the 2024 Manayunk Restaurant Week offered a satisfying reason to revisit the neighborhood — and a strong start to the fall dining season.
