CLIFTON HEIGHTS, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that the Upper Darby School District will begin infrastructure improvements on Springfield Road in Clifton Heights Borough, Delaware County, starting Monday, June 2. The project will involve stormwater installation, curbing, milling, overlay, and streetscape enhancements.
From June 2 to September 2, Springfield Road will be closed on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM between Baltimore Pike and Fairview Avenue. Traffic during this period will be rerouted to Baltimore Pike, Oak Avenue, and Springfield Road.
Following this phase, from September 3 to December 3, weekday closures will shift to the section of Springfield Road between Fairview Avenue and Oak Avenue during the same hours. Detours will direct motorists via Springfield Avenue, Baltimore Pike, and Oak Avenue.
Local access will remain available throughout the project. However, drivers are encouraged to anticipate delays and allocate extra travel time in and around the work zones. PennDOT has noted that all scheduled activities are dependent on weather conditions.
