BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that lane closures will continue next week along U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships as part of the ongoing $116 million project to reconstruct and widen a three-mile stretch of the heavily traveled highway.
From Monday, November 10, through Friday, November 14, periodic lane closures will be in place between Highland Avenue and Route 132 (Street Road) from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in both directions. Motorists are urged to allow extra time when passing through the work zone, as backups and delays are expected. All activities are weather dependent.
The construction is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 contract, which includes lane widening, bridge improvements, and upgraded traffic management systems designed to enhance safety and reduce congestion on one of Bucks County’s busiest corridors.
Once completed, the project will improve long-term travel efficiency and structural reliability across this key commuter route connecting suburban and commercial centers.
