LYCRA Launches COOLMAX CloakFX Fiber at Munich Textile Show

The LYCRA Company

WILMINGTON, DE — The LYCRA Company launched its COOLMAX CloakFX fiber at the Performance Days trade show in Munich on March 18–19, introducing a textile designed to reduce the visible appearance of sweat in garments, the company announced.

The fiber is intended for use in activewear, workwear, and everyday apparel, with technology that diffuses light to make moisture less noticeable while maintaining moisture management and cooling properties.

The company said the feature is embedded at the fiber level, allowing the effect to persist through repeated wear and washing.

“Visible sweat on apparel is the leading pain point for consumers across demographics,” said Tara Maurer-Mackay, product category director at The LYCRA Company.

Maurer-Mackay said the product is designed to address both performance and appearance concerns in a single fabric.

In addition to moisture management, the fiber can provide increased ultraviolet protection compared with conventional polyester materials, according to the company.

The company said 93% of the polyester used in the fiber is recycled, and the material is certified under the Global Recycled Standard.
