WILMINGTON, DEThe LYCRA Company announced two key leadership appointments aimed at accelerating innovation and supporting its global growth strategy. Robert Johnston has been promoted to chief operating officer, while Doug Kelliher has been named executive vice president of product. Both executives will report directly to CEO Gary Smith.

Johnston, a 35-year veteran of the company and its predecessor organizations, expands his responsibilities to include product development alongside his current oversight of global manufacturing operations and IT. His new mandate includes managing R&D talent, laboratory resources, and pilot production to support strategic growth priorities. “I’m honored to take on the role of Chief Operating Officer and help shape the future of our innovation pipeline,” Johnston said.

Kelliher joins the company’s global leadership team with more than 30 years of experience in product leadership roles at Timberland, Velcro Companies, Polartec, and Milliken & Company. He will lead product management across fibers, fabrics, and garments, with a focus on developing differentiated solutions for global consumers. “With the strength of our global team and a clear focus on differentiated products that fulfill market demands, I’m confident we can unlock new growth opportunities and deliver exceptional value to our customers,” Kelliher said.
