Lower Moreland Police Seek Applicants for Entry-Level Officer Role

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA — The Lower Moreland Township Police Department will begin accepting applications for an entry-level police officer position starting Monday, March 23, 2026, with a deadline of noon on Monday, May 4, 2026.

The department announced the hiring process, which requires applicants to submit completed applications in person, online, or by mail by the stated deadline.

Application forms are available online and can also be obtained from the department.

Completed applications may be emailed or delivered to the police station along with a required $40 nonrefundable administrative fee, payable by cash, check, or credit card through Municipay.

According to the announcement, applicants must meet minimum requirements, including being at least 21 years old, possessing a valid driver’s license, and holding a high school diploma or GED.

The hiring process includes a written test, physical agility test, oral interview, medical evaluation, and psychological examination.

The written examination is scheduled to take place between May 6 and May 9, 2026, at the Huntingdon Valley Youth Center, followed by a physical agility test conducted during the same session.

Officials said the agility test will follow Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission standards.

The position offers a starting salary of $94,089.18 during the first year, with an estimated patrol officer salary of $158,378 after four years, along with benefits including pension, health coverage, and paid leave.
