CHELTENHAM TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that westbound Route 73 (Church Road) and southbound Greenwood Avenue will close beginning Wednesday, October 15, as part of a $10.8 million roadway improvement project in Cheltenham Township.
Both closures will remain in effect 24/7 through July 2, 2026. Westbound Route 73 will close between Rices Mill Road and the Curtis Arboretum entrance, with traffic detoured via Washington Lane, Route 309, Ogontz Avenue, and Easton Road. Southbound Greenwood Avenue will close between Spruce Lane and Barker Road, detouring motorists to Township Line Road, Washington Lane, Route 309, and Ogontz Avenue.
PennDOT advises motorists to expect delays and allow extra time when traveling through the area. All work is weather dependent.
