PHILADELPHIA, PA — Leaders from Philadelphia’s life sciences industry will gather at the Academy of Natural Sciences for the Jurassic Impact Reception, an event dedicated to tackling poverty in the city through philanthropy, volunteerism, and corporate engagement. Organized by Life Science Cares Philadelphia, the annual event will run on April 9, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and spotlight the life sciences sector’s commitment to driving meaningful change for Philadelphia’s most vulnerable communities.

Proceeds from the Jurassic Impact Reception will support Life Science Cares’ nonprofit grantmaking, hands-on volunteer initiatives, and workforce development programs, including Project Onramp, an innovative internship program offering paid opportunities for underrepresented students in life sciences. Event attendees will hear directly from Project Onramp alumni, who will share how the program has influenced their careers while addressing the importance of equity in the industry.

“This event is not just a gathering of industry professionals, it is a platform to harness our collective influence and create tangible change for Philadelphia’s most vulnerable communities,” said Jeff Marrazzo, Board Vice Chair of Life Science Cares Philadelphia. “The life sciences sector thrives on innovation and collaboration, and we can apply that same energy to solving the root causes of poverty. We also look forward to welcoming and introducing our new Executive Director Jenn Parrado to the life sciences community.”

Set against the dramatic backdrop of towering dinosaur exhibits, the event will feature networking, storytelling, and insight into impactful initiatives led by Life Science Cares Philadelphia. The evening provides a unique opportunity for executives, change-makers, and community leaders to unite around a shared mission to address poverty’s root causes.
