LANCASTER, PA — The Lancaster Stormers have bolstered their pitching staff with the addition of right-handers Brendan White and Maceo Campbell, manager Ross Peeples announced.
White, 26, brings Major League experience to Lancaster after appearing in 33 games for the Detroit Tigers in 2023. The White Plains native logged 40.2 innings with a 2-3 record, posting a 5.09 ERA while striking out 44 and walking 15. Drafted in the 26th round by Detroit in 2019 out of Siena College, White compiled a 4.20 ERA across 152 minor league appearances. He also previously worked with current Stormers pitching coach Mark Johnson during his time in the Tigers’ system. His move to Lancaster marks his first stint in independent league baseball.
“White is a big acquisition,” Peeples said. “He has a live arm and will help the back end of our bullpen. He’s an experienced guy who we’ve coveted for some time.”
Campbell joins the Stormers from the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, where he posted a 2-4 record with a 7.16 ERA this season. In 2023, he appeared in 14 games for the Charleston Dirty Birds, recording a 7.65 ERA. The right-hander also spent time in the Boston Red Sox farm system, advancing as far as Class A+.
“Campbell has a live arm and a good curveball,” Peeples noted. “We’ve been stretched thin with pitching, and he will add to our depth.”
With these signings, the Stormers’ active roster now stands at 26 players.
