LANCASTER, PA — Blueprints for Addiction Recovery, Inc. has announced the grand opening of the Lancaster Recovery Center, a new community drop-in facility designed to serve individuals and families affected by substance use disorder, mental health challenges, and co-occurring conditions.
Located at 317 North Queen Street in downtown Lancaster, the center will host its grand opening on October 29 from 2 to 5 p.m., offering tours, introductions to staff, and opportunities for community engagement.
The opening comes as part of a broader statewide initiative funded by a $20 million investment from the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs to expand access to drop-in recovery services. Blueprints for Addiction Recovery, which operates programs across the region, was selected as one of the awardees to bring this model to Lancaster County.
A Safe Space for Recovery and Connection
The Lancaster Recovery Center aims to bridge critical service gaps by offering an accessible, stigma-free environment where people can find help without formal intake or appointment requirements. The center will provide peer support, recovery coaching, family education, and crisis referral services. It also offers assistance with housing, employment, healthcare navigation, and re-entry planning for individuals transitioning from treatment, incarceration, or hospitalization.
“This milestone event follows the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs’ $20 million investment to expand drop-in center services statewide,” the organization said. “As an awardee, the Lancaster Recovery Center represents our commitment to serving the most vulnerable in our community.”
In addition to core recovery services, the center will host support groups, educational workshops, and inclusive programs honoring diverse backgrounds and recovery pathways. Visitors will also have access to technology for job searches, education, and telehealth appointments.
A Growing Network of Community Recovery Resources
The launch of the Lancaster Recovery Center reflects a growing recognition statewide that sustained recovery depends on access, connection, and ongoing community support — not just clinical treatment. Drop-in centers like this one play an increasingly important role in Pennsylvania’s strategy to combat addiction, offering people in all stages of recovery a safe place to rebuild their lives.
For Lancaster County, where opioid-related fatalities and mental health challenges continue to impact families, the new facility offers both hope and practical help. By situating the center in a central location, Blueprints aims to make recovery services more visible, approachable, and community-integrated.
As the center opens its doors this week, it marks more than a new resource — it represents a commitment to restoring connection and dignity for those who have too often felt left behind.
