HORSHAM, PA — STRATA Skin Sciences Inc. (Nasdaq: SSKN) said Johns Hopkins Dermatology has added the company’s XTRAC 308 nm excimer laser to its clinical treatment offerings.
The company said the device will be used to treat patients with chronic inflammatory and autoimmune skin diseases, including psoriasis, vitiligo and atopic dermatitis, and will support clinical research and academic initiatives within the department.
STRATA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Dolev Rafaeli said academic medical centers play a key role in advancing evidence-based dermatologic care and improving patient outcomes. He said collaboration with institutions such as Johns Hopkins expands access to targeted, FDA-cleared phototherapy.
According to STRATA, more than 300 peer-reviewed clinical studies have evaluated excimer laser therapy.
The company said other academic institutions that have integrated the XTRAC system into their programs include New York University, the University of California, the Cleveland Clinic and Cornell University.
STRATA develops and markets in-office dermatologic treatment technologies, including the XTRAC excimer laser, VTRAC lamp systems and the TheraClearX acne therapy system.
