PHILADELPHIA, PA — The second annual Jefferson Health APGA Classic is set to return with a stronger lineup, larger prize purse, and renewed commitment to inclusivity in professional golf. Scheduled for August 4–5 at The 1912 Club in Plymouth Meeting, the event has grown significantly since its 2024 debut.

Backed by title sponsor Jefferson Health, the tournament is part of the Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA) Tour, which aims to create opportunities for minority golfers and promote diversity within the sport. This year’s competition will feature over 50 professional players vying for a share of an $80,000 purse—an increase made possible by Jefferson and supporting donors including David Adelman, GHR Healthcare, Seed the Dream Foundation, and BQ Golf Academy.

The expanded format includes a Sunday pro-am on August 3, headlined by Philadelphia sports figures and entertainers such as Mike Quick, Jameer Nelson, Brandon Graham, and Kamal Gray. A youth clinic will also be held, reinforcing the APGA’s dual focus on competitive excellence and community impact.

Nick Ragone, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Jefferson, called the event “a premier stop on the APGA Tour,” adding that the growing investment is part of Jefferson’s broader effort to promote equity and access beyond healthcare.

Solomon Hughes, APGA Chief Operating Officer, praised the region’s enthusiasm. “Greater Philadelphia has embraced our mission,” he said, highlighting the participation of local youth and prominent athletes. “It’s a testament to what happens when a community rallies behind inclusion.”

The 1912 Club, led by owner and golf instructor Brian Quinn, will host the tournament for the first time. “We’re proud to welcome these players and provide a world-class stage,” Quinn said.

Proceeds from the event will benefit First Tee – Greater Philadelphia, a nonprofit that teaches life skills through golf, further advancing the APGA’s outreach and Jefferson Health’s vision of impact beyond the clinic.
