WILMINGTON, DE — InterDigital, Inc. (Nasdaq: IDCC) said it has signed a new patent license agreement with LG Electronics, expanding access to InterDigital’s technologies across LG’s digital televisions and computer display monitors.
The agreement covers LG products under InterDigital’s joint licensing program with Sony and includes technologies tied to ATSC 3.0 broadcast standards, Wi-Fi, and video codecs, the company said. Financial terms were not disclosed.
InterDigital said the deal reflects continued demand for advanced video and connectivity technologies as consumers increasingly rely on high-performance displays for streaming, gaming, and connected services.
“In a video-first world, our innovation in areas such as advanced video compression, broadcast and Wi-Fi is crucial to a growing range of devices and services,” said Julia Mattis, chief licensing officer at InterDigital, Inc.. “LG is one of the largest TV manufacturers in the world, and I am delighted that we were able to sign an agreement through amicable negotiation.”
The agreement adds to InterDigital’s portfolio of licensing arrangements with major device makers, underscoring the company’s role in developing and monetizing foundational technologies used in modern digital media and wireless communications.
InterDigital licenses patented innovations across wireless, video, and AI-driven technologies to manufacturers worldwide, generating revenue through long-term agreements as standards adoption continues to expand across consumer electronics markets.
